Pikes Peak Community College Art Gallery at Studio West
Studio West Art Gallery brings in a wide range of diverse, unique and critically acclaimed regional and national guest artists. These exhibits in addition to PPCC Art Student, Art Faculty and Photography and Multimedia Graphic Design Student shows are generally scheduled throughout the calender year. All exhibits and events are free and will be made available virtually as we navigate current COVID restrictions.
The Gallery is dedicated to preparing students for their careers as working artists while exposing them to the outstanding work of accomplished professionals in the field. We focus on bringing in artists and events that explore social issues, both within our community and around the globe, and plan these exhibits to coincide with the themes of college events and curriculum.
Among the many events hosted by the Gallery in addition to the exhibits are: artist talks, salon discussions, interdisciplinary performances, visiting writer workshops, slam poetry and open mic nights and more. Community partnerships help connect our students to productive and relevant opportunities that form mentoring relationships with professional artists within the region. The Gallery has been nominated for and the recipient of several awards through the Pikes Peak Arts Council.
Studio West
With PPCC's acquisition of a 10,000 square foot building located at 22 N. Sierra Madre St., PPCC has continued to grow as part of the thriving downtown arts scene with the new Studio West building, which houses a modernized Art Gallery as well as a black box theatre, dance rehearsal and performance space. Covid restrictions are in place for all campus buildings, including the Art Gallery. Check back regularly for updates and events.
