The Testing Center can  serve as an alternate facility to proctor make-up exams for students with extenuating circumstances, such as illness or family emergencies, that prohibit them from taking an exam during their scheduled class time. Make up exams are given at no-charge for registered Pikes Peak Community College students. Exams are administered during normal Testing Center hours.

Information for Students

Please do not come to the Testing Center if you are sick. If Testing Center staff get sick due to sick students coming for make-up tests, we will not be able to offer our vital services to PPCC and the community.

Make-up testing is available for student who miss an exam due to an extenuating circumstance, such as illness or family emergencies.

To take a make-up test in the Testing Center:

  1. Contact your instructor to see if they will allow you to complete a make-up exam.
  2. If your instructor approves your request to test at the Testing center, they will submit the exam and the instructions using the Make-Up Test Instructions Form.
  3. Call the Testing Center to make an appointment. We will need to know your name, your PPCC S#, instructors name, test, and test time limit. Testing is done by appointment only.
  • To schedule a make-up test at the Centennial Campus, please call 719-502-3370.
  • To schedule a make-up test at the Rampart Range Campus, please call 719-502-3380.

What to know before your test appointment?

  • Masks are required on campus and in the Testing Center, students who do not comply with mask regulations will not be admitted to test.
  • All students must show a valid, unexpired photo ID before taking a test in the Testing Center. A photo of an ID will not be accepted.
  • Exams are administered during normal Testing Center hours.
  • Electronics are not allowed. Besides a calculator if permitted.
  • If your exam requires a scantron, bring a completely blank scantron to the Testing Center.
  • You may not leave the testing room for any reason once the testing materials have been issued. No bathroom breaks are permitted.
  • Children are not permitted in the testing room, and cannot be left unattended outside of the Testing Center.
  • Tests are stopped and collected 15 minutes prior to closing.
  • Students with approved testing accommodations should visit Accessibility Services for testing information. 
  • All testers must agree to the Testing Agreement.

 

Information for Instructors

Please be flexible with make-up testing deadlines for students so as to not send a sick student to the Testing Center. If Testing Center staff get sick due to sick students coming for make-up tests we will not be able to offer our vital services to PPCC and the community.

To submit an exam for your student(s):

  1. Fill out the Make-Up Test Instructions Form and attach the exam and any other materials needed for your student(s).
  • All required fields must be answered.
  • You must submit one form per student.
  • The form won’t submit if there are extra spaces after words.
  • You must sign the form after it’s submitted.
  1. Students must make an appointment to test. Students can call us at 719-502-3370 to make an appointment at the Centennial Campus or they can call 719-502-3380 to make an appointment at the Rampart Range Campus.               
  2. Completed exams will be filed in your folder for pick up or mailed via intercampus mail according to the exam instructions. The Testing Center cannot hand deliver tests to faculty mailboxes.
  3. Tests that are beyond the deadline date will not be given without prior approval from the instructor. Instructors can extend deadlines by emailing testing.center@ppcc.edu.
  4. Due to limited seating, the Testing Center cannot accommodate testing for entire classes.
  5. Exams are administered during normal Testing Center hours.
  6. Electronics are not allowed in the testing room. Besides a calculator if permitted.
  7. To submit an exam for a student with accommodations follow Accessibility Services guidelines.
